Fantastic Experience
If you love wildlife and want to see the animals in their natural environment, this is a must-do if you are in Melbourne. It was one of the highlights of our tour. We are so glad we did it!

Highlight of our trip
There are so many options in Australia to see/interact with Kangaroos and Koalas, but if you’re trying to decide, you can safely stop your search now and just book Echidna Walkabout. Here are a few reasons: 100% of your experience helps protect these animals. Guide Dan was documenting observations of the Koalas. Lastly, this is a social enterprise where all profits go right back into conservation efforts. We learned SO much and got to see many Koalas and Kangaroos! For everything you come away with after this tour, the price is super reasonable.

La original Fauna Australiana observada in situ

3 day Great Ocean Road
This tour incorporated so much more than the Great Ocean Road in 3 days and 2 nights, staying in quirky country accommodation. We benefitted from our Guides’ knowledge of birds, culture, geology, and ecology from them. They kept us moving but the tour was varied and well paced and exceeded our expectations.

Amazing, magical day
I can’t recommend this enough – had a wonderful day. Our guide – Dan – was professional and very knowledgeable and ensured that we had an incredible experience. We saw koalas really close up and in their natural habitat with no exploitation and a fascinating mob of kangaroos, again, in their natural environment. We were able to get close and to observe natural behaviour thanks to our guide. If you get the chance don’t miss out on this.

Best Part of Our Trip
In a trip where there were so many highlights, including New Year’s Eve in Sydney Harbor, this one was at the top with no effort. Our stellar, extremely knowledgeable guide knocked himself out to show us the absolute best of the area. We trekked through the bush to see koalas munching eucalyptus leaves, stood stock-still in a field so as not to spook the kangaroos a few feet away. If you’re in the Melbourne area, put this on your list.

Please support ethical ecotourism (like this)
This tour absolutely exceeded my expectations. We saw three koalas and a mob of 80 (!) kangaroos, plus wallabies and emu! We saw several kangaroos with joeys in their pouches, too!
As an anthrozoologist keenly interested in the human dimensions of wildlife, I was very impressed by our guide, Hayley, and her knowledge/communication of information about conservation. Thank you for this important work and for sharing it with us!fuleco7 July 18, 2019
Sets a high standard
Our guides were Brett & Amy. They expertly guided us through a variety of ecosystems (from gum forests to coastline to temperate rainforest) on an epic 3 day journey. The spots they chose for bush walks were untraveled and exquisite. We saw, heard and photographed a variety of mammals, birds and marine life. The tour was expertly planned and the commentary entertained my admittedly hard-to-impress pre-teen every minute. Working in research and conversation activities really made this an interactive educational experience that will stay with us for life. My most memorable moments – hanging out with a mob of kangaroos and the sight of albatrosses gliding above the ocean.
