Meet ... Smoky and Pat

We were so happy to meet these two! New life in the midst of so much sadness for the Brisbane Ranges Bushfire. Smoky is a magnificent girl - young (3 to 5 years old in 2006), strong-looking, healthy and quite large. She reminds us of Daisy when we first met her.

Pat is a tiny little girl only 1 year old (or maybe a little less - she may have been a late baby) and full of fun and adventure. She adapted to seeing us much more quickly than her mum (but then, it's easy to be confident when your mum's protecting you!) Both of them are quite relaxed in our company now - it only took Smoky a month to learn that we are not going to hurt her baby, and koala mothers are very protective and most suspicious.

Update - July 2007
Pat is no longer a baby so she now has her own story.
