When the weather is very hot, Koalas often spread themselves out along the branches below the foliage to try to keep cool. They may even come down from the trees to sit on the cool ground.
Koalas seldom drink as they usually get enough moisture from the gum leaves but in the hot weather they may also come down for a drink.
