Echidna in the Wildflowers
" You never quite know where you may spot an
echidna. They certainly get around. Spring in the Brisbane Ranges is
magnificent -the wildflowers here are comparable to anywhere in Victoria".
Janine Duffy
The Echidna is Australia's native spiny ant-eater and one of the most
unusual animals in the world. It lives all around Australia - from
deserts to mountains and can travel long distances. It is a
monotreme (egg-laying mammal).
The Brisbane Ranges National Park has diverse plant life with 619
plant species in the area as well as marsupials and around 180 bird
species.
