Koala Research

Meet ... Adelaide

We think Adelaide was a very young female when we first saw her in January 2006, just before the bushfire. She is very pretty (as you can see) with a dark grey face, fluffy, round, upright ears with lots of long white tufts. She has some white spots on her bottom, and grey fur on the rest of her. Her wonderful spotty nose, with wrinkles, could suggest that she is older than she first appears - but that could be just her. Maybe she is one of those ageless types!

She has the most lovely calm nature. She seems happy to have a good look at us when we arrive, but with curiosity, not fear. Then after she has satisfied herself, she settles down and goes back to sleep!

She lives right at the start of our Koala Research area, and so is often the first koala we see. Her neighbours are Caz, JoFrank, Arkaroo, Barwon and recent arrivals Mary and Mumma K.
